New Keeper of the Learning Circle

We are pleased to announce that Maggie Dieter joins us as Keeper of the Learning Circle, in a .6FTE position effective January 13, 2025. In this role Maggie will oversee the Indigenous Ministry Training Program.

Maggie brings a breadth of experience to his role. She is a graduate of the Indigenous Ministry Program (Francis Sandy Theological Centre, 2001) and has served in a variety of capacities within The United Church of Canada’s Indigenous theological centres. She brings with her seventeen years of experience in pastoral ministry with Indigenous and Settler communities of faith in south-central Ontario, as well as nine years of service at the United Church of Canada’s General Council Office as Executive Minister, Indigenous Ministries and Justice.

Maggie possesses a deep familiarity with issues facing Indigenous people and communities and brings lived experiences of the colonial impact, as well as the path to healing and identity restoration. She is from the Peepeekisis Cree Nation, Treaty Four territory (Sask.) She is a mother, a grandmother, and a life-long learner committed to working with others to nurture and support spaces where all are valued and authentic participation is affirmed. She is committed to working collaboratively, and with flexibility, with the students and the communities we serve.
