Indigenous communities in Canada have a long positive heritage of sustainability. This course offers the opportunity to review the varying strategies and processes of development that were present before colonization; during eras of colonial dependency; and which now continue to seek liberation, promote self-determination, and work toward building-long term community capacity. This course provides students with the opportunity to interactively engage and reflect on their own context through an appreciative inquiry approaches to community development.
