Plant Based Wellness Workshop Series: Sweetgrass Teachings – FULL
September 3, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Registration is now full. To be added to a waiting list, please email connect@sandysaulteaux.ca.
Join us for part 2 of a 4 workshop series on the four sacred medicines: tobacco, cedar, sage, and sweetgrass. These are traditional medicines that have physical qualities for medicinal purposes, and a spiritual aspect used in traditional healing and ceremonies. Each workshop begins with a time of teaching from our knowledge-keeper, Erica Lindell of Mossy Birch Homestead, followed by a skill-share activity.
On September 3 we will learn about Sweetgrass.
Sweetgrass, also known as Wiingaashk, is a sacred plant in Indigenous traditions, particularly among the Anishinaabe, and carries profound teachings about connection, responsibility, and respect for the Earth. It’s one of the four sacred medicines, along with tobacco, sage, and cedar. When braided, sweetgrass is often divided into three sections representing the Seven Generations before us, our present journey, and the Seven Generations to come, embodying the interconnectedness of all being.
SKILL SHARE: make a witch hazel, sweetgrass and jojoba oil spray for your face or skin.
These workshops are made possible from the support of IERHA’s Healthy Together Now fund. We are grateful for their support to put on workshops such as these for the community at no cost!
We invite you to make a donation, if you’re able, when you register, to help provide further programming to the community at little to no cost.
