10:00-11:30 am CDT Annual General Meeting

• For those who wanted a detailed update on how SSSC is doing and where we’re going 

• The meeting will include a smudge, stories from our staff, a review of our financial statements, elections to our Keepers of the Vision, announcements about future directions and thanksgiving for the relatives who make it all possible. 
• If you have donated money to SSSC, or are a student, honoured elder or member of an Indigenous community of faith in The United Church of Canada, you are welcome as a member of the corporation and can vote at the AGM. 

 

3:00-4:00 pm CDT Virtual Visit

• For those who can’t make it in person but still want to hear the key highlights of our year and visit with other friends and supporters of SSSC.

12:00 pm Prayers at the Sacred Fire

• To wrap up our AGM and begin both our fall sweat lodge and the four directions walk, we’ll gather around the sacred fire to give thanks and ask Creator to guide us in the seasons ahead.  

Fall Sweat Lodge Ceremony 

• To reserve your spot inside the lodge for this ceremony, register here. 

• All are welcome to spend the ceremony around the sacred fire. 

• We encourage you to bring tobacco, a gift for the lodge keeper and a donation for SSSC 

• Bring a dish of food for the potluck feast and celebration to follow. 

Four Directions Walk

• Following the time of prayer at the sacred fire, join friends of the late Mike Maunder for a walk around the land here in his memory.
• Travel along our trail to share teachings from the medicine wheel as we retire the old prayer flags and hang new ones in each of the four directions.

12:30 – 4:00 pm Casual fun & games

• Time to visit and catch up with friends. Go for a walk on the trails, sit outside or inside. 

• Tea, coffee, fruit and snacks served in the hall. 

• Play Plant & Animal Bingo! 

• Browse photo albums in the hall. 

3:00 – 4:00 pm Q & A with SSSC staff

• If you missed the AGM or just have more questions, hear a short presentation from staff then join in a conversation on what’s next for Sandy-Saulteaux. Bring you questions!  

4:00 – 6:00 pm Community Feast & Celebration

• Bring a dish of food to share and join in the potluck feast.
