SUMMARY:Spring Equinox Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Seasonal ceremonies at Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre are a time to be on the land\, to honour and give thanks for all of creation\, to have some quiet reflective time around the fire and to renew and refresh our mind\, body and spirit in the sweat lodge. \nThe ceremonies include a sweat lodge\, followed by a potluck feast. Read more about what to expect at our seasonal ceremonies. \n  \nIf you are not entering the sweat lodge\, you are welcome to come and be with the sacred fire. \nTo enter the sweat lodge\, you must register in advance. REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL. You can contact us to be added to a wait list. We will contact you if a spot opens up. You are also welcome to come and be with the sacred fire. If you come ready to sweat and a spot opens up at the last minute\, you’ll be ready! \n  \nWhat to bring: \n\nTobacco\nFor the sweat lodge: shorts (men) or cotton nightgown or skirt/top (women) & towel\nFor outside the sweat lodge: any hat\, jacket\, rain gear\, sun or bug protection you need to be comfortable and safe outside\, depending on the weather of the day\nWater bottle\nFood – to share in potluck feast after the sweat\nDonation for the Centre encouraged (cash or cheque made to Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre\, donating online available when you register)\nGift for the lodge keeper encouraged (cash or any item that expresses your gratitude for the ceremony)\n\nWant to find out about other upcoming ceremonies? DESCRIPTION:Join us for a potluck feast followed by star teachings with Wilfred Buck. \nWhat to bring: \n– food to share in a potluck meal \n– dress for the weather\, especially if we have clear skies\, we’ll spend part of the evening outside \n– suggested gift donation $20/person (use the link below or bring cash or cheque to the event) \n\nMake a gift\n\n  \nWilfred Buck is from the Opaskwayak Cree Nation of northern Manitoba and currently works from the Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre as a science facilitator. He has over 15 years of experience as an educator and expands on MFNERC’s vision to bring a First Nations perspective to the sciences by doing what he is more passionate about — looking up at and thinking through the stars. Buck is a husband\, father of four\, son\, uncle\, brother\, nephew\, storyteller\, mad scientist\, teacher\, sugar pipe carrier\, sweat lodge keeper\, old person\, and sun dance leader.
