SUMMARY:Plant Based Wellness Workshop Series: Cedar Teachings - FULL
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now full. To be added to a waiting list\, please email connect@sandysaulteaux.ca. \nJoin us for part 3 of a 4 workshop series on the four sacred medicines: tobacco\, cedar\, sage\, and sweetgrass. These are traditional medicines that have physical qualities for medicinal purposes\, and a spiritual aspect used in traditional healing and ceremonies. Each workshop begins with a time of teaching from our knowledge-keeper\, Erica Lindell of Mossy Birch Homestead\, followed by a skill-share activity. \nOn October 1 we will learn about Cedar. \nCedar is the medicine that helps protect us from the unknown or unseen\, and the emotions and feelings of others. It is used as a shield or a cleansing medicine against lingering spirits that can disrupt daily life. \nSKILL SHARE: You will be making a steam blend that includes cedar. \nThese workshops are made possible from the support of IERHA’s Healthy Together Now fund. We are grateful for their support to put on workshops such as these for the community at no cost! \nWe invite you to make a donation\, if you’re able\, when you register\, to help provide further programming to the community at little to no cost. \n  \nOther workshops in the series: \n\nAugust 6: Tobacco teachings\nSeptember 3: Sweetgrass teachings\nNovember 5: Sage teachings

SUMMARY:Community Sweat Lodge
DESCRIPTION:Sweat lodges  at Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre are a time to be on the land\, to honour and give thanks for all of creation\, to have some quiet reflective time around the fire and to renew and refresh our mind\, body and spirit. \nThe sweat lodge will be followed by a potluck feast. Read more about what to expect at our ceremonies. \n\n\n\n\n\nTo enter the sweat lodge\, you must register in advance by completing the form below. \nYou may also participate without entering the sweat lodge. Everyone is welcome to come and be with the sacred fire. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nTobacco\nFor the sweat lodge: shorts (men) or cotton nightgown or skirt/top (women) & towel\nFor outside the sweat lodge: any hat\, jacket\, rain gear\, sun or bug protection you need to be comfortable and safe outside\, depending on the weather of the day\nWater bottle\nFinger food – to share in the potluck feast after the sweat\nDonation for the Centre encouraged (cash or cheque made to Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre\, donating online available when you register)\nGift for the lodge keeper encouraged (cash or any item that expresses your gratitude for the ceremony)\n\nWant to find out about other upcoming ceremonies?
