DESCRIPTION:Resource People: Aliesha Desjarlais & Rev. Deb Anderson-Pratt \nElder: Rev. Connie Bud  \n  \nCourse Description:    \nTo explore spirituality\, theology\, and practices surrounding the faith formation of youth and people who live in urban settings. Students will learn about different ways that urban and youth ministries and outreach look in urban settings\, identify ways to partnership with urban ministries in their area and generate practices for walking alongside youth on the adventure of discipleship.   \n  \nLearning Outcomes:   \n\nTo explore how ministry in urban centres can be shaped in this time of change and disruption to be one of accompanying individuals of all ages in their faith journey\, their spiritual development\, and their personal growth in ways that encourage and support renewal of a cultural identity and positive self-esteem.  \n\n\nTo explore how organizations and ministries are meeting diverse needs of individuals\, in particular\, the Indigenous people in urban centres.  \n\n\nTo highlight the gifts and challenges of working with urban settings\, that foster mutuality\, equity\, and respect.  \n\n\nExplore how church and surrounding community can walk together with people of all ages in a good way that creates conditions to break down systemic barriers and build opportunities that bring wholeness\, self-identity\, economic\, social\, mental\, and spiritual wellbeing.  \n\n\nTo explore Indigenous spiritual ways of knowing that provide guidance\, grounding and understanding of how God / Creator is uniquely present in the lives of Urban Youth to enhance their sense of belonging\, wholeness\, and wellness.   \n\n\nTo explore ways of empowering youth in their own advocacy efforts in community to have their needs met in the urban centres.\n\n  \nDownload the syllabus. \n  \nWe welcome guest learners to join our ministry students in this circle. \nTo register\, download the registration form below and return completed form to connect@sandysaulteaux.ca. \n\nREGISTRATION FORM

DESCRIPTION:Registration is now full. \n  \nJoin us in part 3 of a 4 workshop series to share and learn based on the Seven Sisters with Knowledge Keeper Audrey Logan. We will share in food\, conversation\, skill sharing and knowledge. \nOn April 17\, we will learn about health and the Seven Sisters in partnership with the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority (IERHA) and make jam together. \n5:30pm: introductions\n6:00pm: supper served\n6:30pm: workshops/presentations \nThese workshops are made possible from the support of IERHA’s Healthy Together Now fund. SUMMARY:Men's Sweatlodge
DESCRIPTION:Sweat ceremonies at Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre are a time to be on the land\, to honour and give thanks for all of creation\, to have some quiet reflective time around the fire and to renew and refresh our mind\, body and spirit in the sweat lodge. \nThe ceremonies include a sweat lodge\, followed by a potluck feast. Read more about what to expect at our sweat lodge ceremonies. \n\n\n\n\n\nIf you are not entering the sweat lodge\, you are welcome to come and be with the sacred fire. \nTo enter the sweat lodge\, you must register in advance. \n\n    \n        REGISTER HERE\n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nTobacco\nFor the sweat lodge: shorts & towel\nWater bottle\nFood – to share in potluck feast after the sweat\nOptional donation for the Centre – for wood\, gas for elder\, cleaning\, etc.
